Material Surgicryl Monofast sutures are made from Polyglecaprone 25, a copolymer composed of 75% glycolide and 25% ?-caprolactone. Absorbable Absorbable sutures, broken down and absorbed by the body over time. Monofilament Made of a single strand of material, which provides a smooth surface for easier tissue passage and reduced capillarity (which can minimise bacterial growth). Absorbable/Tensile Strength These sutures offer good initial tensile strength, with approximately 60% of the strength remaining after 7 days. Absorption is typically complete within 90 to 120 days.
